Jonah Reading Challenge for Young People Week Four

Here are the resources for the final week of the Jonah Reading Challenge for Young People.

Some questions to think about

Why was Jonah angry with God?

How many people in Ninevah had not heard about God and were still doing wrong?

What did God want Jonah to do in Ninevah?

How do you think God felt about the people of Ninevah?

Congratulations you have now read the whole of the Book of Jonah.

In the space below write a text message (around 20 words) to explain to a friend what you have learnt about God and his love for you and all his people while doing this challenge.

Time to pray

Jonah didn’t want to obey God and go to Ninevah. He didn’t want to tell the people there about God and share news of Gods love. Are there things in life that you find difficult? Are there times you have to do things even if you don’t want to? Ask God to help you do them in the way that he wants you to and to show Gods love to others.

Lord Jesus, thank you that you love and care about me. Thank you that you are always with me, even when I am finding life difficult. In particular, please help me when…………Thank you that you care about everyone even those who are bad like the people of Ninevah. Help me to be an example of your love to people that I meet by being a good friend and behaving in the way you want me to showing your love to others
Amen
